BIOGRAPHY

Vinod Kushvaha has a diversified educational and research background in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Materials and Biomedical). Vinod earned his Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M.Tech.) from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) in Civil Engineering (Specialization in Structural Engineering). Following that he earned his second master’s and a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering (focused on Fracture Characterization of Composite Materials under Impact Loading) at Auburn University, Auburn, AL, USA. During his PhD, he was awarded a one-year internship at the Mayo Clinic, the world’s most renowned medical institution. His diversified research background led him to publish in various engineering journals, and in several international conferences. Vinod also actively reviews for Composite Science and Technology, Composites Part A, Materials Science and Engineering A, and Computer Methods in Biomedical and Biomechanical Engineering journals. After finishing his PhD, he worked as a Senior Development Engineer at Georgia Pacific, Atlanta, GA, USA, where he led applied mechanics research initiatives to address technical uncertainties for the corrugated business. In October 2018, Vinod returned back to India and joined Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) as an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering department. Presently he is actively working on research in various engineering fields including Civil, Mechanical and Materials engineering.
